Margaux’s “Sweet One”
Before Sunshine Indoor Play ever officially opened its doors, we hosted our very first customer birthday party… and I will never forget it.
Margaux’s “Sweet One” first birthday came at a time when the space still had a long to-do list, unfinished details, and so many unknowns. I remember feeling so nervous going into it. This was our first real booking, and I just kept thinking: This has to be perfect.
Looking back now, it wasn’t just a party. It was a moment that pushed me from “we’re building something” into “this is actually happening.”
Margaux’s party was the sweetest mix of playful and beautiful. The “Sweet One” theme came to life with soft pastel tones, candy-inspired details, and one of my all-time favorite balloon garlands. To this day, this setup still stands out to me with the colors, the textures, and the way everything came together.
Balloon Garland + Statement Backdrop
This was one of the first times I really got to bring a full balloon vision to life in the space, and it quickly became one of my favorite parts of designing parties at Sunshine.
The oversized pastel balloon garland paired with fun donut and candy elements made the perfect statement backdrop for photos, cake time, and celebrating that big first birthday milestone.
The Sweetest Details
Margaux’s mom added the cutest personal touches that made the entire setup feel extra special. From the signage to the thoughtful little details, everything tied together so beautifully. The cake she brought was stunning and fit the theme perfectly.
We leaned into the theme with:
donut and sprinkle-inspired table settings
playful inflatable donuts on the wall
soft pastel party accents throughout
It felt fun, whimsical, girly, and perfectly “one.”
Our First Photo Booth Experience
This party was also our very first time setting up the Ring Roamer photo booth, and it ended up being such a hit.
We created a custom themed photo strip design to match the party, and guests had so much fun capturing memories throughout the celebration.
It quickly became something we knew we wanted to keep offering for future parties.
The Party That Changed Everything
At the time, I was still deep in the “what if this doesn’t work?” phase. We weren’t open yet. There were still things left unfinished. And I felt the weight of wanting to make this experience amazing for our very first family. But by the end of the party, something shifted.
The space was filled with laughter. Kids were playing. Parents were celebrating. Photos were being taken. Memories were being made. And I realized this is what Sunshine is meant to be.
